Womb for Rent

I decided awhile back that I would love to be a Surrogate Mother, but I didn't take it seriously until after I had Logan.  I missed being pregnant, I missed the incredible feeling of having a little person moving inside me, I even missed him kicking me in the bladder when I really had to pee.

I love being pregnant and I even love the labor and delivering, but of course we can't afford nor handle another baby right now.  So why not become a surrogate mother and give the most precious gift, the gift of life and get paid to do it.

I feel so good about this decision, I know this it is going to help a wonderful couple be able to be bless with a family.  I just know that it is meant to be, when I first started researching about becoming a surrogate I found out that it was illegal to get paid to be a surrogate in Washington.  I looked up the law and come to find out they have been trying to change the law for 10 years and just 2 months ago, they changed the it.

I just finished filling out the very large application that took me 2 months to fill out and now I am waiting for the agency to receive it....I will keep you posted.

Do Not Go In There!

This, it was not....
Since we moved to Tacoma about 2 years ago we would drive past a store called Castle, on Tacoma Mall Blvd on the way to the theater, Sports Authority and now Win Co (love that store).

On the sign it says Knights and Damsels Welcome, we always wondered what kind of store it was, maybe it is just a department store, or a costume store or maybe even a store for LARPers (Live Action Role Players)  where they can get all their costumes and weapons.

A couple of weeks ago after coming home from our trip to Win Co, (I love that store, did you know it has actual honey bees you can get honey from!) we decided to pull in so I could go in and check it out.

You would have thought that the blacked out doors would have gave me a hint, but no...yeah it was a Sex Toy Store.  The cashier sees me and says "Hi"  so I say "Hello"  I don't know what to do, I can't just turn around and go out right, that would be rude.  So I look at some clothes for a second, notice the cashier is no longer looking at me, turn around and walk out.

I get back in the car and Jason says "So?", I say "Well it is good that we didn't take the kids in there!"

And now we know

My New Craving

While at McDonald's I saw this yummy treat on their McCafe Menu.  The only thing, it is impossible to order, I have ordered it four times and only once have they got it right.

The first time I didn't know what to say so I asked for a Hot Iced Chocolate and I got a Hot Chocolate, which was fine because it was still yummy.

The second time they got it right and it was awesome....chocolaty, creamy, and cold.

The third time the drive-thru line was so long so I went in, I asked the guy there for a Iced Chocolate and he looked at me weird.  "You want a what?"  I say again "A Iced Chocolate, it is right there on the menu, with the coffee, but it does not have coffee."  It takes him a couple tries to find in on the register, but then does.  After asking his manager what it is, than he asked me again, and I repeat.  "It is just a Hot Chocolate with Ice, NO COFFEE"  After about 5 minutes of him running around and figuring it out.  He finally gives me an Iced Chocolate, I grab a straw and run out because I have hungry kids at home.  When the kids are happy and taken care of I am excited to sit down and enjoy my Iced Chocolate.  I try it and it tasted different and then I realize it has COFFEE!  I was so mad, I threw it in the sink and was about to go back but I decide it just isn't worth it.

Today was the forth time, I went thru the drive-thru, and again they don't know what I am asking for, it shouldn't be so hard right, it is on the menu.  I get to the window they give me what looks like a Iced Chocolate, but without the whipped cream, which is fine I don't need the added calories.  I start to drive. but think I better try it before I get too far and again it is COFFEE.  I go in and of course I am as nice as possible, but say "I ordered a Iced Chocolate but got a Iced Coffee instead can I just get what I ordered.  It took them a while but then they got it right.

I am writing this in hopes that more people will go to McDonald's and order this wonderful Iced treat, just because we are Mormon doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to enjoy something Iced.  The more orders they get the more often they will make it so I won't have this problem anymore and I won't have to repent every time I go to McDonald's.  Thanks for reading!

Happy Mother's Day

Took this with my phone...
This morning I was surprised by Kyler with a gift bag with Buzz and Woody (Jason said Kyler picked it out himself)  Some chocolates and Tina Fey's new book (I love her).  I thought that was it, but to my surprise I had 2 more gift bags one from Logan and one from Jason.

What an awesome morning, presents from my 3 favorite boys, feather-light waffles with homemade whipped cream and strawberries, and now they are all taking a nap so I can have some blogging time.  Now if only the sun would come out...

I love being a mom, it is such a joy to see my two little boys grow up and be their cute happy self's.  Best Job in the World!

Now only if we could make it to church on time!

Tribute to My Mom

My Mom is truly THE BEST MOM EVER!  If you don't believe me I have 4 siblings that will back me up.  She is always just a phone call or a Skype away.  I have never met anyone more loving, caring, selfless, kind, sweet, and generous then her.  She would do anything for her children and does.  Thank you for everything that you do.  I love you so much mom, you are the best!

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavour by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." - Washington Irving

Happy Boy!

While I was in DC I received a text message from Jason with this picture and the message "Guess what he did"  I respond back "No paci or went potty in the potty"  It was the second.  Kyler said to Jason "Potty!"  So he ran upstairs and went potty, so proud of him.  For his reward he received this bike...he is now the happiest little boy ever!

My Trip to the Other Washington

This week Logan and I, left Kyler and Jason and traveled to DC for my niece Lauren's wedding.  Logan was so good on his first flight from Seattle to Salt Lake, no one even knew I had a baby until I stood up after the plane landed.  We met my dad at the airport so he could see Logan and see us off.  When everyone arrived mom, my niece Lindsay, her friend Skylar, Lauren's friend Jessica, and of course my sister Lacey we all boarded.  Thank goodness I was able to sit with mom and Lacey so they could give me a break from holding Logan.  We got in at midnight and it took an hour to get our mini van, we finally got to the hotel around 1:30 am and crashed.

Jefferson Memorial
Friday we tried to get up early, but it just didn't work. We woke up around 9 had breakfast and got on the metro and to downtown around 11.  We were able to go to the Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, FDR Memorial, Korean War, Vietnam and World War II Veteran Memorials.  We hurried back to the hotel and got ready to go to Lauren and McKenzie's Celebration Dinner.  After the dinner we enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pool, colored my hair, had a face mask, and then went to bed.

Lincoln Memorial
Saturday we were able to wake up early and drive to Arlington Cemetery, where  we witnessed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the changing of the guard.  What a beautiful day Saturday was, perfect day for a wedding....  wedding details to come later....

After the wedding and wedding dinner, we had the brilliant idea to drive to downtown to see the lights on the White House, Capital Building, and National Monument .  On Saturday night that is not a brilliant idea....

Jefferson Memorial
It was a nightmare, one lane back streets, round-abouts, taxi drivers who think they own the road, one way streets, drunk pedestrians, car accidents, blocked off streets, and cops everywhere that are very siren happy.  After 30 minutes of trying to find the White House with my garmin and almost going down a one way street, I had a little meltdown, we headed back to the hotel.  An hour and half later (it should have only been a half a hour) we finally got back to the hotel at 2:00 am and went to bed.
Mom, Lacey and Me
White House and National Monument
Sunday we had to wake up super early to take Lacey to the airport.  After we went back to the hotel and had a much needed two hour nap.... woke up, got ready, packed and headed to Annapolis to see my good friend Kim.  So good to see her and catch up.  During the lunch we found out that we had to rush back and get the girls to go to the airport with us, we defiantly had an hour of panic to get back to the hotel get the girls and get the car and us to the airport on time.  There was a lot prayers and speeding...but we made it....but it was very, very close.

Lincoln Memorial
Flights back were fine and uneventful, until we got back to Salt Lake and found out that Bin Laden was dead, it was cool to be at the airport and hear all the cheers and clapping.  All in all it was a great trip, very short, but very fun.

I love DC, I always say I am living in the wrong Washington.
